Interlull Half Time : Boring, Boring, (Yawn) Boring…

October 14, 2012

We’re midway through the International Break and it’s fair to say that this one is one of the most excruciatingly boring Interlulls ever. But then again, they all are. I don’t want to engage in a tirade about how the matches are an inconvenience and they are meaningless, and stuff like that, because quite frankly it’s not my nation playing in those matches and it would be unfair on my part to call them meaningless because it is about representing a nation. It would mean something to citizens of the nation and it’s players, how much is something I’m not in a position to guess. As a club football fan though, what a drag!!!

Well… Er, you get the picture…

It’s gonna be a quickie today as we are forced to feed on scraps when it comes to news about Arsenal. The first round of fixtures are over and we have our first injury casuality in Theo Walcott, where Bank Accountant/San Marino goalkeeper Aldo Simoncini absolutely clattered into him. It may probably be nothing more than a concussion but who knows. The Ox opened his account in a good display, Koscielny and Giroud played 90 minutes in a friendly defeat to Japan with the former shaking off initial injury fears, Mertesacker started for Germany against Ireland while Podolski was brought on for the last 20 minutes or so. Ramsey has played 90 minutes for Wales against Scotland and picked up a yellow which leaves him suspended for the next match. Santi Cazorla also played the entire game for Spain against Belarus.

Chambo opens his account

It’s good to know that barring Walcott, who is suspected to have picked up a bruised lung, all are in proper shape – no broken bones, torn muscles and ruptured tendons – and hearing that Chambo and his dad becoming the first father-son combo to score for England is good to hear.

In other news, Joachim Low and Vicente del Bosque are happy for Lukas and Santi, moving to Arsenal and playing well. Uncle Woy is gutted with the challenge that KO’d Theo. GdB’s chairman has reiterated that the door is open for Chamakh to move back to Bordeaux if he so desires and… that’s about it!

I’ll leave it that then. Sorry for the spectacularly shallow post, drought of actual news and all, and i’ll back again when we get back to real football. Till then, Cheerio… Arsenal Forever…
